Where Locals Actually Eat in Vancouver, WA (According to Facebook, Not Yelp)

When you want real recommendations, you skip the food blogs and ask the people who actually live here. So that’s exactly what I did, dug deep into the Dining in the Couve Facebook group and asked the one question that always leads to strong opinions: Where should I eat in Vancouver, WA?

Hundreds of comments later, this list basically built itself. And here’s the fun part, this isn’t one of those “best of” lists written by someone who lives three states away. These are spots locals go to again and again. From fancy nights out to cheap lunches, here’s what the people of Vancouver are actually eating and loving.

Amaro's Table

Two locations: 1220 Main St, Vancouver, WA 98660 & 816 NE 98th Cir, Vancouver, WA 98665

I lost count of how many times Amaro’s got mentioned. And yeah, maybe it's “over-recommended,” but honestly—they’re doing something right. Steaks, salads, cocktails, and vibes. If you haven’t been yet, it’s time.

The Hammond Kitchen & Craft Bar

4857 NW Lake Rd, Camas, WA 98607

If you’re the type who judges a place by how well they cook scallops or plate a steak, you’ll like it here. Upscale but still warm. The locals call it a steady Eddie—classy without being stuffy.

Thai Orchid Restaurant

213 W 11th St, Vancouver, WA 98660

A downtown favorite with loyal fans. People swear by the pad thai, curry, and the calm, inviting atmosphere. If you’re craving Thai and want something you know will be good, this is your go-to.

La Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie

17719 SE Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98683

For those "let's pretend we're in Paris" mornings. Flaky croissants, perfect quiche, and breakfast that actually feels special. Not cheap, but worth it. Definitely a favorite brunch spot for couples and families alike.

Little Conejo

114 W 6th St, Vancouver, WA 98660

If you want tacos that make you re-think tacos, this is the place. Mezcal cocktails, killer carnitas, and a cool downtown vibe. It's one of those spots you bring out-of-towners to—and they immediately ask, “So you come here often?”

Crust Collective

650 Waterfront Way, Vancouver, WA 98660

Right on the water. Detroit-style pizza. Cozy indoor seating, awesome patio views, and thick, cheesy squares of pizza that feel like they came from a food dream. People are obsessed, and I get it.

Elements Restaurant

907 Main St, Vancouver, WA 98660

When you want a fancier night but don’t want to drive to Portland. Seasonal menu, beautiful plates, and just enough sophistication to make it feel like a special occasion without going full tuxedo.

La Bottega

1905 Main St, Vancouver, WA 98660

Wine bar + deli + Italian restaurant = happiness. Their pasta hits, the paninis are perfect, and the staff makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. Pretty much a universal local favorite.

Sushi Mo

1012 Washington St #140, Vancouver, WA 98660

Tucked away in downtown Vancouver, Sushi Mo is a local gem owned by sisters Monica and Mi Jung Mo. They bring a blend of Japanese and Korean culinary traditions to the table, offering fresh sushi, inventive rolls like the "Jack-in-the-Box," and comforting Korean dishes such as bibimbap. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service make it a favorite spot for both sushi enthusiasts and those seeking a unique dining experience.

Bleu Door Bakery

2411 Main St, Vancouver, WA 98660

Think: breakfast and brunch meets a cozy neighborhood café. The baked goods are worth the carbs, and if you're lucky enough to get a seat during the weekend rush, you're in for a treat.

Bonus Shoutouts (Because Locals Couldn’t Stop Recommending These Too):

  • Pho House – Reliable, comforting, and everything you want in a big bowl of pho.

  • The Cove – Waterfront food and drinks, nice for groups.

  • House of Beijing – Low-key Chinese food that people swear by.

  • Daawat A Ishq – Vegetarian Indian spot that wins hearts every time.

  • Joe Brown’s Cafe – You’ll get full. That’s a promise.

  • Stardust Diner – For when you want old-school vibes and a milkshake with your burger.

  • Hula Boy Charbroil – Best Hawaiian food in Vancouver, according to multiple passionate commenters.

  • Naan N Curry – Big flavors, casual setting, and deeply satisfying.

This list could’ve gone on for days (and trust me, the comments did), but if you're looking to eat your way through Vancouver like a local, this is a good place to start. Huge thanks to everyone in the Dining in the Couve group who chimed in—you’re the reason my to-eat list just doubled.
